Goal of the
Conference
- To engage students
and youth in fostering proactive global citizenship by linking local
actions globally for social change.
Objectives of the
Conference
- To showcase
high-quality graduate student research on international or Canadian
participation issues through presentation and publication
- To facilitate a
networking opportunity among students from different faculties, and
universities; interested academics; and local practitioners
- To publish and
profile student research internationally on PD Forum’s Virtual
Gateway
This conference is
organized by PD Forum in collaboration with Carleton University and the
University of Ottawa with the financial support of the International
Development Research Centre. It is open to all.

The Participatory Development (PD) Forum/ Forum sur le

network of several hundred development practitioners,
non-governmental organizations, academics/action researchers,
private sector representatives, and policy makers interested in
advancing reflection and practice in the area of participatory

PD Forum has 14 Board Members representing North America, Latin America
and the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, Asia /Pacific and Ottawa. Five board
members are based in Ottawa in order to provide a foundation to oversee
funding, programming and staffing.
